I have not been writing, either. Just sleeping, eating, reading and the occasional meditation session thrown in. I don't know that it has improved a whole lot, either, but at least I felt motivated to post a blog today.
Yesterday, I was stopped in the street by a reporter from the local rag who asked me if I would give her a comment, and let her take my picture to publish in next weeks paper. She was asking people what their dream Valentine's day date would be. "If you could have anything--sky's the limit, what would be your very best dream for Valentine's day?" I told her we don't celebrate Valentine's but she said. "That's okay, just--dream big, what would you want?"
So I decided to enter into the spirit of the game and told her I thought that breakfast on the beach in Fiji would be nice. She loved it. Then she took a photo, telling me to give a big smile--NOT happening. Maybe if she'd asked me on Tuesday next week, she might get a BIG smile. hehe. But for this photo she had to settle for a tight little--barely showing any teeth at all--kind of smirk. I am just not that into showing off that broken tooth to the entire district, y'know?
Only a few more days before I go to the dentist and finally get my broken front tooth fixed. Of course, attendant on that, is also getting a root canal done in one of my back teeth, which I am not looking forward to at all, but I am trying to focus on the positives here.
I had a bit of a rant today, which escalated into an argument with my partner about the whole ebook piracy issue. That has left me feeling both cleansed and wrung out. I don't think I will ever reach a place of true resolution on piracy. It sucks and there's not a lot that can be done about it. That's all true, but it also still hurts and is as frustrating as hell. The only thing I would ask and I know this won't get me anywhere, is that those who illegally download my books for free don't even think of yourselves as my fans. You're not fans, you're stinky, sucky leeches and I can do without you. *gets out the salt and a zippo* So stay away from me, mkay?
As well as being tired and grumpy, I have also been busy for a lot of January, and early Feb with getting final edits and proofs done on not one, but two stories that are due to release on the same day in February.
You can download a free preview of this book HERE
My other release for February is Arcana: Queen of Pentacles coming February 13th from Torquere Press.
Trey Donovan has a good job, close friends and loves living in his hometown of Reno. The only thing lacking from his life is a special someone to share it with. That's more of a problem to his best friend, and boss, Dimitri, than it is for Trey. Demitri urges Trey to learn to trust despite some bad experiences in the past, but when Demitri's old college pal Gabe Walsh shows up, and shows an interest in Trey, Demitri is quick to step between them, almost ruining Trey's chances at happiness.
I will post excerpts from both of these releases closer to release day! Stay tuned!
Okay, that's about it for me today. :)
